General Report

I was to command flight BUMPER to defend a supply train stationed in Antwerp but was diverted to intercept enemy contacts in the vicinity of Brussels after approximately 30 min of flight. Once we approached the area, near sector 2110, we saw and engaged a formation of Fw-190s carrying ordinance and headed to the nearby AF. I managed to shoot down 01 Fw-190 on the first pass and the formation immediately scattered. S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort attemprted to engage the other planes of the formation but the enemy began to dive towards their lines. Soon after, S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort got a tail as he attempted to climb but I was able to quickly spot and approach the enemy unseen. With a quick burst to conserve ammo, I was able to damage his plane but not enough to cause any critical damage. The enemy took the oportunity to dive and disengage from the combat. I decided to not continue pursuit since we were quickly losing Angels and I wasnt sure if any additional enemies were nearby. After that first formation broke off, I decided to keep the group over the area for some additional time just in case any other attempts were made to attack Brussels and not long after, another formation approached but this one much larger than the first. We engaged a group of Me-109s but could not catch them on the run. Outnumbered and running low on fuel, I ordered the unit to RTB over Gent for refuelling before finally heading to Antwerp.
