General Report

I was once again to lead BUMPER flight from our home base in Tangmere to protect Munition stores around the city of Cherbourg. BUMPER flight engaged a low-flying Ju-88, probably conducting recon, near the port and I managed to cause considerable damage to him during the first pass. The other pilots from the flight, F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe and P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe, also made devastating passes to the enemy, with P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe causing significant damage and inflicting the critical hit that finally brought the beast down. F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe 's plane was hit during the engagement so BUMPER had to RTB early than expected. All pilots landed safely.
