For today's mission, I was tasked with leading flight BUMPER with S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort and P/O 'Wookie' Kaczmarek as my wingman to attack an enemy armores column NE of Antwerp. The low cloud cover provided the idea position for our flight to engage the enemy troops that were quickly spotted immediately north of the main road leading to the port. The attack was successful in hitting, at least, 2 vehicles stationed in the area but we are not sure how effective the attack was. Upon egressing south towards the port, BUMPER encountered a single Me-109 that was destroyed by me. As soon as we reached the port a formation of Me-110s was spotted and one damaged by S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort. 02 Fw-190s were later destroyed by S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort and P/O 'Wookie' Kaczmarek as we maintained a low level patrol over the port. All pilots returned to base safely. | ||
