General Report | ||
For the second mission, BUMPER flight led by me again, was tasked in protecting a friendly supply train headed to the city of Venlo. Flight again operated in conjunction with No . 56 Sqn to maintain air superiority over target area. BUMPER encountered multiple enemy formations attacking nearby artillery positions and managed to take down 02 enemies over the area and damage another. I destroyed one Me-109 and damaged another while F/O 'Mac' Steele managed to destroyed 01 Me-110 but was victimn of friendly fire down on deck and forced to bail out over Venlo, immediately next to what appeared to be Shermans. We hope he managed to get to safety. Supply train, however, was never spotted in the area. The rest of the flight RTBed safely back to Ophoven. |
