General Report

Today I was tasked with leaidng flight BUMPER to patrol sector Charlie (in the vicinity of Gorinchem), with S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort, F/O 'Gunny' Cook, and P/O 'Wookie' Kaczmarek as my wingmen. Take-off took place without a hitch and BUMPER was quick to encounter action about 20 miles from B.77. I advised the flight to keep a safe distance until sufficient altitute was obtained around the patrol area and when we were about 18000ft we engaged a formation of Me-109s. I was able to destroy one but decided to disengage south of the position to ensure we were all safe from any unsuspecting enemies. Unfortunately, pilot P/O 'Wookie' Kaczmarek got detached from the flight during desengagement and was shot down behind enemy lines. We were then engaged by a lone 109 who quickly disengaged once our flak batteries began firing at him. After regaining our alttitude, BUMPER returned to sector Charlie where we spotted a low Fw-190 heading to enemy lines. The flight engaged the enemy but only to cause minor damage before he ran north. On our way back, another flight of Me-109s were spotted near the area and BUMPER attacked from their high 6 o`clock. 01 Me-109 was shot down by me again and one was damaged by S/Ldr 'Skipper' Merfort . All other pilots RTBed safely and unscathed.
