General Report | ||
The squadron took off from Cologne under the codename BUMPER with the Red flight being led by myself with F/O 'Mac' Steele leading and F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe on his wing. Blue flight was led by me with P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe on my wing. The flight conducted a ground attack mission in Plattenberg. En route to our target, the flight was jumped by a 109 which allured blue flight to break off and deal with the bandit as red flight pressed the attack on the ground troops. Red flight scored no confirmed ground kills but Blue flight was able to shoot down a Me-109 directly over target. 'Bumper' continued on with a sweep where we found ourseleves over Hagen where blue flight engaged enemy aircraft. P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe received extensive damage to his tail section during an intense combat against an Dora but I was able to assist and take the enemy down. We landed with no further enemy action being seen at our home base. |
