General Report

From B-77, blue flight with myself leading and F/O 'Zach' Z. Lamothe on my wing. We conducted an offensive sweep over the bombline, from Gorinchem to Nijmegen. Northeast from Hertogenboch, Zack had spotted a bogie which he then intercepted and confirmed it to have been a 190 A-8 variant. Zack fired and the butcher bird caught aflame and nosed for the ground. I spotted no parachute. North of Nijmegen, we spotted American P-51's engaged with a 109 and we moved to cover the 51's. The Yank's made quick work of the 109 leaving it a wreck so we left and continued on with our sweep, heading west. On our return flight we probed enemy line's to lure up Jerry but we spotted nothing. We returned to base with no further enemy action being seen.
