General Report

B Flight led by F/O 'Mac' Steele and accompanied by P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe took off from B-70 for a bombing run on enemy panzers in the area. After a relatively unsuccessful strafe we found an enemy infantry position with dugouts and decided to drop our eggs there instead. I wasn't able to see the dugouts in time and I failed to get my bombs off on the first run. I went in for a second run but due to heavy AAA I went in quickly and dropped my load over the first dugouts that I could see. I took severe damage from anti-air guns but F/O 'Mac' Steele was able to confirm that my bombs landed right on-target. P/O 'Al' A. Lamothe and F/O 'Mac' Steele swooped in almost immediately to help suppress the enemy AA and I was able to get away without having to bail. I steered West towards friendly lines and F/O 'Mac' Steele was able to help me find the closest airfield; as I was leaking fuel, had engine damage and generally had a hard time flying with it's unpredictable new attitude. I was able to land successfully thanks to Mac's staunch top-cover support.
