General Report

From A-89, I had taken off late from the rest of the flight due to mechanical problems on the runway but had linked up with them as they were picking away at the train. I made one pass at the train destroying 4 cars and continued on to link up with the rest of the flight. En route to an RV point, it had become clear that P/O 'Al' Lamothe had gone missing after we heard on the R/T that he was hit. While quickly searching the surrounding area for a wreckage or location of ditch, Zack had spotted a 190 to the south which we engaged. I gave only a quick steady squirt of just .50 which must have severely damaged the hun. We both spotted the German bailout seconds after getting hit. We returned to base with no more enemy action witnessed.
