Lead this mission as Red One on a return to the bridges at Cologne, this time to destroy the one that we missed a couple of days ago. From Aachen airfield again as base, we had to take off in single file as the airfield is still well cratered, and we flew east towards the Rhine and we gained the target area within twenty minutes. I observed that the target was partially clouded over so I ordered a detour to port in order to be able to run into the target more effectively. I allowed the target to run under my port cannon as we learned at Warmwell, when the target reappears past the trailing edge then it's time to roll over and dive. Dive was smooth and target acquisition was seemless. I dropped my munitions onto the top end arch of the 'Hohenzollernbrucke' and easily cleared the beautiful catherdral. I egressed at full throttle staying very low until we had all cleared the target and then we climbed up to about 8000 ft for the cruise back to base. Single file for landing as usual at Aachen.
