Welcome to No. 41 Squadron RAF
We are a group of flight simulation enthusiasts gathering around the "IL-2 Sturmovik" series.
- The virtual No. 41 Squadron RAF was founded in 2007 at the peak of the legendary "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946",
followed by the transition to "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover" in 2011.
- The release of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Bodenplatte" and the announcment of "IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Normandy" in late 2019 finally introduced a
Western front scenario and allowed the progression to the latest sequel of the series: "IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles".
The squadron is based in Europe and is centered around aircraft operated by the Royal Air Force during WW2, in particular fighters and fighter-bombers.
- We enjoy flying as a team in a more serious and ambitious manner, though not in competition among each other.
- Our activities range from weekly campaign missions and exercises to the participation in organized community events and visits to mission oriented dogfight servers.
The squadron is geared to create an immersive experience. To support this, every member is encouraged
to express the mentality of a WW2 RAF fighter pilot.
- Organization, tactics and communication are based on authentic Royal Air Force documents of the 1940s.
- Our campaigns are well-researched and try to recreate historical events and scenarios within the
limits of the simulation.
- The squadron history is composed within a virtual replica of an Operational Record Book (Form 540 and Form 541). Claim your victories
in Intelligence Reports (Form F) and write your individual history in a Pilot's Flying Log Book (Form 414).
