General Report

Unit operated under the callsign Voodoo from B.70 airfield and I was to lead the flight once again for a Ranger mission in the vicinity of Antwerp. Upon reaching the area, a Me-109 was spotted engaging a group of P-38s. I engaged the bandit while F/O 'Ike' Irvinh stayed slightly higher to cover me. With a quick burst of my cannons, the enemy went down in flames. No parachutes were seen. Upon regrouping, our unit then headed slightly north to seek for any targets of opportunity and some ground troops were spotted over the Bresken's pocket. I destroyed 02 Flak guns and F/O 'Ike' Irvinh another. Soon after, a group of Me-109s dove in to attack us and damaged my engine in the dogfight that ensued. The bandit then dove to deck and ranaway before F/O 'Ike' Irvinh had a chance to get a good gun solution. I was able to nurse the plane back to base despite all the smoke inside the canopy and the poor visibility in the cockpit.
